Arua, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Acholi Province has received a boost from Ugandan-born South Sudan National Team striker, Tito Okello in their quest to retain the FUFA DRUM league title.
Tito, who also plays as a forward for the Iranian Pakyan FC is part of the Acholi Province squad that will tussle it out later this evening with the West Nile Province in the first leg of the semi-finals of the FUFA DRUM tournament.
He has played for Uganda`s national team, the Uganda Cranes, and reputable clubs such as Vipers KCCA FC, BUL FC, African Lyon, Mbeya City, and Benfica Macau in China. Tito jetted into the country and joined the Acholi Province camp this week ahead of their tie at Green Light Stadium.
He had not been part of the team yet he was very instrumental when Acholi Province emerged as the winner of the second edition of the FUFA DRUM. Tito pledged that his side will emerge victorious in today’s game. Denis Okot, the Captain of the Acholi Province, team said on Saturday evening that they are ready to battle their opponents and secure victory.
Geoffrey Akena, the Acholi Province Head Coach, says that he believes in his 25-man squad noting that all players within and outside the region have all reported to the camp and have been polished.
Acholi Province is the reigning champion of the second edition of FUFA DRUM.
They qualified for the semi-finals after their 2-all draw with Buganda Province in a game played in Luweero district. Tooro Province will also host Lango Province on November 20th, 2022 in the first leg of the semi-finals of the FUFA DRUM tournament.
