Onesmus Oyesigye, Executive Secretary UBTEB released the roadmap on Friday during a press conference held at the board offices in Ntinda.
According to the roadmap, the examinations will be conducted in two phases. The first phase will start on December 13 to 22, while the second phase from January 24 to February 4, 2022.
More than 40,000 candidates are expected to sit for the examinations from 460 examination centers.
According to Dr. Nahamya Karukuza Wilfred, the UBTEB Deputy Executive Secretary in charge of Examinations Management, the first phase of the examinations will be for students of National diploma programs in technical colleges for first years, national technical certificate programs, and community polytechnic programs for agriculture.
He adds that the second phase will be examinations for students offering diplomas and certificates in business, agriculture, fisheries, wildlife, lands, and humanities.
The released roadmap also indicates that the online registration of candidates started on November 8, 2021 and will end on November 24.
Oyesigye says that there has been an increase in enrollment of students doing technical and vocational studies. He says that since the inception of UBTEB, the number of students offering technical and vocational studies has risen from 28,000 in 2011 to 103,000 students currently.
He attributes the increase to the TVET streamlined assessment that gives students confidence that the courses they offer are of a set standard.
