Uganda to send five teams for 2024 ISF Football World Cup in Dalian

KAMPALA,  Uganda | Xinhua | Uganda will send five teams to the 2024 International School Sport Federation (ISF) Football World Cup in China.

The global tournament will take place from May 17 to 27 in Dalian, northeast China.

Justus Mugisha, president of the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA), told Xinhua on Monday that Uganda will send two girls’ and three boys’ teams to compete.

“The five teams that will represent the country and the strongest have shown that they are capable of carrying the flag high. All five teams have already started preparing and are playing in various school tournaments,” said Mugisha.

“We are very confident that the schools that will represent Uganda will put up good performances and be able to finish among the best in their different categories,” he added.

Last year’s ISF World Cup at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, Morocco, saw China and France emerge victorious in girls’ and boys’ categories respectively.
