Uganda to send team for World Junior Badminton Championship in Nanchang

KAMPALA, Uganda | Xinhua | Uganda will send six players to the BWF World Junior Badminton Championships 2024 to be hosted in Nanchang, China.

Simon Mugabi, the Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Badminton Association (UBA) told Xinhua on Thursday that the junior national team of three boys and three girls will play in the tournament slated for September 30 to October 5.

“This is another opportunity for our junior players to go and mingle with the world top players from other countries around the world and also get the top class exposure. It is always good when the young players get the opportunities to play at such events because they help them improve,” added Mugabi.

The CEO made it clear that they are determined to give the national junior and senior players exposure at international events this season with some tournaments in Zambia, South Africa, Ghana and Europe. ■
