Fazila Ikwaput’s first half goal handed Uganda their 2nd straight win and a place in the semifinals of the ongoing inaugural CECAFA women’s football tournament in Jinja.
Uganda’s 1-0 win over Burundi saw them join Kenya, who topped the group with three wins from three games, into the semifinals. Kenya capped their qualification by whipping Zanzibar 11-0 in the early match.
A day earlier, Ethiopia progressed to the semi finals alongside Tanzania in group B by beating Rwanda 3-2.
