Namisindwa, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | A Uganda People’s Defense Forces officer has been found dead in Namisindwa district.
Samuel Makokha, attached to the 37th Battalion in Karamoja sub-region was found dead in his house.
According to residents, Makokha returned home on Monday, but they were shocked to find his body hanging in his house on Friday.
The LCIII chairperson of Bukokho sub-county, John Wafula says the deceased could have committed suicide. Wafula adds that the deceased had a mental problem following an injury he sustained in 2018.
“We found him dead, hanging in the house, we cannot tell the reason for his hanging because there was no even chit left behind by the deceased,” Wafula said.
The Elgon Region Police Spokesperson Rogers Taitika said he was yet to get the details of the incident.
