⚽ URA 0 Vipers SC 1
Mukono, Uganda | VIPERS SC WEBSITE | Vipers SC picked a huge three points after edging URA FC 1-0 at the Nakisunga Ssaza Grounds on Saturday.
The match was decided in the 70th minutes, when Ibrahim Orit’s effort took a huge deflection on defender Benjamin Nyakoojo past Alionzi Nafian into the net. Later credited as an own goal, it was enough to secure Vipers a fourth victory on the bounce this season.
It’s also the sixth Uganda Premier League game for the Venoms without defeat this season, following match-day two’s 1-0 loss to KCCA FC. It has been 5 wins and 1 draw since.
The first half wasn’t a show of a mammoth goal-scoring chances as both teams stuck to caution than taking risks in attack.
Cromwel Rwothomio had the most decent chance to break the deadlock in the 25th minute after a strong run to create space, before firing inches wide.
The home team started off the second stanza probing and threatened for an opener in the 55th minute, but Derrick Ndahiro’s powerful low-drive was brilliantly dealt with by custodian, Alfred Macumu Mudekereza.
