VIDEO: Police Chief General Kale Kayihura is in Algiers, the Capital of Algeria on a mission to assess the progress on the implementation of the proposed African Police (Afripol) – an offshoot of the International Police. Afripol was proposed in Cartagena, Colombia in 2014 and was approved by the African Union and African presidents last year. General Kayihura and his host; Major General Abdel Ghani Hameln, the General Director of National Security and Commander In Chief of the Algeria Police are the brains behind the African Police. While in Algeria, General Kayihura will discuss ways of improving security relations between the two countries especially in the field of ICT innovations in policing. Emphasis will also be put on incorporating technologies in the Uganda Police work.
