VIDEO: Government is finalizing plans of banning the importation of television sets that require digital set top boxes or decoders as it aims to increase access to television following last year’s digital migration.
This follows broadcasters and the public’s outcry of expensive set top boxes which increases the cost of owning a television set. Once implemented, dealers will only be allowed to import television sets already bearing decoders.
