Wavamunno becomes a Queen’s Knight

Prof. Gordon Wavamunno has been ignited as a knight by Her Majesty the Queen of England at St John All Saints Cathedral Nakasero.

Wavamunno the Chairman / Commander of St John Uganda was recognized for his tireless and selfless work for human life.


According to the press release by the Secretariat of St John Uganda on 11th January 2013, Prof. Anthony Mellows OBE TD will represent the Queen of England Elizabeth 2 the sovereign head of the order of the St John.

The Queen will also bestow honors to other distinguished Ugandans  including Rt. Rev. Bishop Wilson Mutebi a retired Bishop from Mityana Diocese and Vice Chairman of the Council of the St John Uganda who is to be admitted as Commander, Christine Nandyose Kasirye, the Secretary General of the Association of St John Uganda who is to be admitted as Officer and George William Katatumba a long serving Treasurer of the Association who is to be admitted as a Serving Brother.

The three admissions were published in the London Gazzete dated 7th November 2011.

Wavamunno is also known as Honorary Consul, Honorary Professor, Franchise-Holder for Mercedes, Jeep and Wingle, Publisher, Industrialist, Cultural Advocate, Farmer, among others.
