THIS WEEK: Born again Christians hold prayers inside parliament

Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | In a move to cleanse parliament of the recent brawl that left some legislators injured, speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga on Oct.06 hosted a team of born again Christians led by Apostle Juliet Oyet who held a prayer inside the house.

Oyet, the leader of Life Line Ministries condemned the police for the brutal eviction of opposition lawmakers but prayed that God gives Kadaga guidance as parliament handles the contentious constitutional amendment bill that seeks to change presidential age limit from the current 35 to 75 years.

The team anointed Kadaga with holy oil and blew trumpets to invoke God’s guidance. In their petition the religious leaders said since article 1 of the constitution says that power belongs to the people, leaders and parliament should consider letting people choose how they want to be governed through regular, free and fair debate and eventually elections.
