THIS WEEK: Dr. Rwendeire passes on
Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Dr. Abel Rwendeire the deputy chairperson of the National Planning Authority and chairman of the Makerere University Visitation committee succumbed to a heart attack on Oct.05. His colleagues said he had been complaining of chest pain before he was rushed to Nakasero hospital.
By the time of his death, he hadn’t handed the report of his investigations into the affairs of the university to the president as per the terms of work.
Before joining Planning Authority, the biochemist had served as state minister for Higher Education, for tourism and trade and industry. He also represented Rubanda East Constituency in parliament in 1996.
