THIS WEEK: Kayihura speaks out on women murders
Kampala, Uganda | THIS WEEK | Inspector General of Police Kale Kayihura on Aug.21 addressed the public about recent murders in Entebbe and Nansana.
At a community policing meeting in Nansana, he said their investigations reveal that the murdered women had problems with their lovers who hire a criminal gang of contract killers to brutalize the women.
All of the 17 murders are characterized by brutality and sexual violence.
According to Frank Mwesigwa, the Kampala Metropolitan Police boss says of 11 of the murdered were sex workers. However, last week a woman in Katabi Entebbe survived an attack by a man who she said held a panga and wanted to rape her.
