THIS WEEK: Muntu puts party campaigns on hold
Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | President of the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party Gen. Mugisha Muntu announced on Sept.25 that he is putting his campaigns to seek another term as party president on hold to join his colleagues in the move to stop the proposed amendment of article 102 (b) of the constitution that puts presidential age limit between 35 and 75 years.
Muntu who warned that changing the constitution poses an uncertain future for the country that has suffered many years of turmoil.
In the campaigns for presidency, incumbent Muntu tussles out with former legislator Patrick Amuriat, Kawempe South legislator Mubarak Munyagwa and two little known contestants Dan Matsiko and Moses Byamugisha.
