THIS WEEK: Police receives donation of gun storage equipment
On July 17, Police received gun storage equipment from the UK government to help them keep guns out of reach of wrong elements. The gun boxes which are to be distributed to police stations across the country were handed over by Phil Figgins member of the British Peace Support team at an event held in Tororo district.
Figgins said the donation was given owing to the recent issues of misuse of guns and loss of weapons that have been reported in different security locations across the country.
Apart from supporting the country with storage equipments, the British government he said is training officers in charge of armories and will also construct fully fledged armories.
