THIS WEEK: Sam Mwandha is new UWA boss
Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Sam Mwandha has replaced Andrew Seguya as the new Executive Director of Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA). Mwandha a Veteran Conservationist with experience spanning 20 years in wildlife management and conservation competed and beat the incumbent and Achilles Byaruhanga of Nature Uganda for the job.
Mwandha has been serving as a chief of party at African Wildlife Foundation. Before that, he worked as Executive Secretary at Greater Virunga Transboundary Collaboration (GVTC) and also at the Authority as Director for Conservation.
Once confirmed in this position, he will now be in charge of all the national parks, sanctuaries and community wildlife areas across the country.
